Wetherby Library Presents...


Wetherby Town Up For Sale!
Treasures of the Local and Family History Library

Friday 7 October, 11am - St James' Church Centre
(advance booking necessary) 

The whole town of Wetherby is up for sale! While trying to raise money to build
Chatsworth House, the 6th Duke of Devonshire in 1824 aims to sell the town.
A fun and quirky talk by Ross Horsley with a chance to see original auction documents
and other unique items from the Library’s collection.


Hidden Treasures of the Library

Friday 7 October,  2.00pm – Wetherby Library

Rhian Issac presents a look at some of the more historic and unusual items from our City Libraries. Many of these treasures are rarely seen by the public.


Empress On The Corner, a one-woman play by Chris Nickson

Saturday 8 October, 7.00pm to 8.00pm – Wetherby Methodist Church Hall

Annabelle Harper, played by Carolyn Eden, features in the series of Inspector Harper
mystery books set in Leeds in the 1890s.Trace Anabelle’s life from growing up on the
Bank to becoming landlady of the Victoria public house in Sheepscar, via the mills.


All of these events are free of charge
