Classical Art and the Perception of Beauty - Gillian Hovell

A very welcome return of the ‘Muddy Archaeologist’ always a knowledgeable and entertaining speaker. Here she examines the elusive concept of beauty through the sometimes-startling art of the Greeks and Romans. Is beauty timeless or bounded by the times we live in? Can it really be in the eye of the beholder, or is beauty conditioned by society’s mores?

Tickets, £10 on the door ONLY. More about the Society’s 2024-25 programme can be found on www.lintonantiquesociety.org.uk You can become a member for just £30, individual, and £55, joint, which gives access to all seven presentations during the season. You can join through the Society’s website or by contacting the Membership Secretary on 0113 345 1815

The Box Office, staffed by volunteers, will be open in the Horsefair (Morrisons) from September 23rd to 5th October, 10.00 am to 12.00 noon, Monday to Saturday or buy online.
