Traditional African rhythms and songs form the core part of the repertoire, in addition to songs from many countries across all the continents (including Bulgaria, Macedonia, Syria, France, Croatia, Hawaii, New Zealand and the rain forest) along with a sprinkling of spirituals and gospel music.
Sung in the original language, Chechelele try to capture the spirit of the song using movement, actions, percussion, drumming, calling and plenty of ululation.
An exciting and lively group they have performed at folk festivals, sung at the Edinburgh Fringe, and supported benefits for a range of good causes.
It promises to be a wonderfully enjoyable evening
